QUETTA: A Baloch culture day was organised in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan by different cultural organisations and political parties on Friday in which a large number of people, especially the youth, participated with enthusiasm. They expressed love and affection for their culture and traditions.

People wearing traditional clothes and turbans paraded on roads. They performed folk dances and sang songs.

A Balochi Mushaira was held in Quetta in which several poets participated.

The Balochistan National Party (BNP-Mengal) organised a show at the lawn of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation. Thousands of people, including party leaders and workers, attended the function that began in the morning and continued till afternoon.

A Baloch social activist, Amna Mengal, organised a function at the Quetta Press Club for women. She displayed traditional makeshift “Gidan” being used by Baloch nomads, reflecting their lifestyle.

The central leader of National Party (NP) Nawab Muhammad Khan Shahwani and MPA Dr Shama Ishaq visited the women cultural show and announced cash prize for the organisers. BNP-Mengal leaders Dr Jahanzeb Jamaldini, Nawabzada Lashkri Raisani and others also attended the function.
