LAHORE: Spiritual leader of the Sikh community Mohinder Singh Ahluwalia called on Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and discussed arrangements regarding celebrations of the 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak.

The chief minister assured cooperation in this regard, saying that protection of minorities, including the Sikhs, had been ensured in Pakistan.

Steps had been taken for well-being and prosperity of the Sikh community living in the province.

He said: “All possible steps are being taken for maintenance, protection and upkeep of gurdwaras and other religious places of minority communities. In fact, protection of fundamental rights of the minority communities, along with protection of their life and property, is part of Punjab government’s priorities.”

Mohinder Singh said they were thankful to the CM for providing facilities to them along with maintenance of religious places and their beautification.
