KARACHI, May 12: The administration of Sindh Muslim Law College, Karachi fearing violent clashes between student groups at the campus, has closed the college till May 14 following inhuman torture on a college student by activists of an ethnic student organization.

According to the students of S.M Law College Karachi, a neutral student of the college was subjected to inhuman torture by activists of an ethnic student organization yesterday, compelling college administration to close the college till May 14.

It is worth mentioning here that students of S.M Law College are currently attending preparatory classes for LL.B Part-II annual exams 2005, scheduled to commence within two weeks.

Students expressing concern over closure of the college for four days informed that college administration was in the habit of closing the college on petty issues and it was the fourth time since commencement of academic session when the college was closed.

They also expressed concern over law and order situation at the college, saying both the administration and the police personnel deployed at the college had failed in protecting students. — PPI
