KARACHI, May 11: A doctor was shot dead at a petrol pump on Hub River Road on Wednesday morning. Police said that Dr Syed Muhammad Ali Gohar, 32, was at a petrol pump to get his vehicle (LOU-9295) refuelled when two persons on a motorcycle opened fire at him. The victim suffered three bullet wounds. He was rushed to the Civil Hospital where he died during treatment, police said.

They said that Ali Gohar, a homeopathic doctor, was heading to his clinic situated in Baldia Town No 4 when the incident occurred. The victim was a resident of Madina Arcade, Keamari.

His father-in-law Yousaf Shah lodged an FIR against unknown suspects at the Mauripur police station. Following the incident, dispute over the jurisdiction of the police station arose, which was settled an hour later.
