LAHORE: A book about the cinema of Pakistan will be launched at the Alhamra Art Centre on Wednesday (tomorrow).

Journey Through Lens: Pakistani Cinema is being launched by Lok Virsa in collaboration with Lahore Arts Council. Syed Noor, Dr Fouzia Saeed, Aijaz Gul and Jamal Sohail are likely to speak at the event.

The book primarily focuses on the cinema of Pakistan which is an essential part of the country’s cultural heritage. It traces the history of cinema in the subcontinent from 1906 when the first film shots were screened in a hotel in Mumbai. It also highlights the best of film from the ‘50s and beyond.
