ISLAMABAD: Minister for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has directed the management of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) to ensure free treatment at the emergency of hospital.
Moreover, it is further directed to ensure that all tests would be done free of cost and patients have been advised to contact the management in case of any complaint.
It is claimed that all the treatment at the emergency department of Pims is provided free of cost, but if doctors suggest tests such as MRI, X-Ray or laboratory tests, patients have to pay charges.
Media Coordinator Pims Dr Waseem Khawaja while talking to Dawn said that patients, whether entitled or not, are requested not to pay a single rupee while getting treatment at emergency department.
“Patients of all ages, who visit at emergencies of the hospital, will be provided free treatment. If someone demands charges, they (patients) should lodge a complaint with Administrator Pims Dr Raja Mohammad Amjad or with director emergency,” he said.
