MARDAN: Police on Wednesday claimed to have resolved a blind murder case of a teenaged boy by arresting his killer.

SP operations Abdur Rauf Babar announced the name of the killer in a press conference here on Wednesday.

SHO Hoti police station Noor Mohammad Khan and Investigation Officer Taj Mohammad Khan were also present.

Mr Babar said they had found the body of 17-year-old youth on Aug 10, 2017, who was later identified as Asadullah of Gulibagh locality.

The SP said they had traced and arrested the killer named Inamullah the other day. He claimed the accused was close friend of the slain.

During interrogation, the police officer said the accused admitted to the murder, saying he loved the victim. On the day of his killing, the accused said he took his victim to Ghazana Dheray locality on the pretext of playing a cricket match, where he shot dead Asadullah when he turned down his demand to make love with him (accused).

The accused said he dumped the body in the same locality, which comes within the limits of Saddar police station, and fled from the scene.

The SP operations said both the victim and his killer belonged to Gulibagh area. He further said they had also recovered the pistol used in the murder.

During the police press conference, the accused was presented before the mediapersons.
