Coca-Cola’s 100pc recycling goal for 2030

WASHINGTON: Coca-Cola is launching a campaign to collect and recycle 100pc of its packaging by 2030, the company announced Friday.

The company said it is also working to make all of its packaging 100pc recyclable worldwide.

“The world has a packaging problem and we have a responsibility to help solve it,” Coca-Cola President and CEO James Quincey said in a statement.

The iconic brand is calling the new campaign “World without Waste”.

By 2030, the company said it will help reclaim one bottle or can for every one sold by the company and its independent bottlers, wholesalers and retailers.—AFP

Wipro expects growth in 2018

BENGALURU: India’s software services exporter Wipro expects significant growth in its high-margin digital business this year, it said on Friday following a quarterly profit dip on one-off provisions.

The company posted net profit down 8.5pc year-on-year in the three months to Dec 31, but CEO Abidali Z. Neemuchwala told a news conference that it expects some big deals in the digital business and increased overall client spending in 2018.

Finance Chief Jatin Dalal said that the digital segment, which includes services such as cloud computing, big data and design engineering and now constitutes about a quarter of the company’s IT revenue, would remain a key focus area.
