KARACHI, May 8: Federal Housing and Works Minister Syed Safwanullah paid tribute to the poet and writer Akhtar Shirani and said that it required instinct to understand such poets. He was speaking at a programme, organized by Akhtar Shirani Memorial Trust at Radio Pakistan Auditorium here on Saturday night in connection with the celebrations of birth centenary of great poet Akhtar Shirani.

Later talking to newsmen, the minister said that a hou-sing scheme of 1,000 flats had been prepared for the government employees from Grade-1 to 16 in Sector G-11, Islamabad.

Such schemes would also be introduced in Quetta and Peshawar, he added.

Safwanullah said that 20,000 to 25,000 flats would be built during the next two years.—APP
