SARGODHA: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) supports Sial Sharif pir’s stance on the Khatm-i-Nabuwat issue, claims Jehangir Tareen.

Speaking to journalists at Sial Sharif about 35 kilometres from here on Friday, he said his meeting with Pir Hameeduddin Sialvi was not a political one but meant to show unanimity on a religious issue.

“It is the common cause of all Muslims irrespective of the political ideology and for this reason I conveyed a special message of support on behalf of the PTI chairman,” he said and hastened to add that a dialogue on politics is possible during the next meeting with Pir Sialvi.

The PTI, he said, condemned the move on Khatm-i-Nabuwat in parliament and would support all movements including the one seeking ouster of Rana Sanaullah as law minister.

He said the Pir of Sial Sharif had postponed the sit-in at Data Darbar due to Kasur incident and would shortly announce a new date for protest in Lahore after consultation with his supporters.

Referring to the ghastly incident of Kasur, he said when the main objective of the Punjab police was to provide security to the Sharif family and harass their political opponents, how they could provide protection to citizens. He demanded immediate arrest of the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, Qasim Sialvi thanked the PTI leaders for supporting the movement. He said there would be no compromise on the issue.

Earlier, when Jehangir Tareen reached Sial Sharif, no one other than him was allowed to meet the religious figure. His helicopter made an emergency landing near Mohra Fatima due to some technical fault.
