MIRAMSHAH: A soldier was martyred and two others were injured in a landmine explosion in the Sarobi area of North Waziristan Agency on Thursday.

Officials said that soldiers were patrolling the area near the Afghan border when the landmine planted on a dirt track exploded. As a result, one soldier lost his life and two others were wounded.

The deceased was identified as Amanullah and the injured as Havildar Fazal Abbas and Sepoy Nafees. The injured were shifted to a military hospital in Bannu Garrison.

Security forces carried out a search operation in the area after the blast. However, no arrest was reported.
