KARACHI: The inaugural Sindh Sports Board (SSB) Quaid-i-Azam women’s boxing championship will commence at the Ustad Abdullah Baloch boxing stadium, Peoples Sports Complex, on Friday.

The Sindh Boxing Association (SBA) said on Wednesday that the quarter-finals and semi-finals will be staged at the above venue on Friday and Saturday while the finals will take place at the Ustad Ali Mohammad Qambrani stadium, Kakri ground on Monday.

Sunday is the rest day in the event.

The competition that will take place in two categories – under-16 and under-25, will help select Sindh team for the inaugural national women’s boxing championship being held at Lahore Jan 20 to 24.

Bouts will be held in eight weight categories in the under-16 and three weight categories in the under-25, the SBA said.
