HARIPUR: The district administration will issue domicile certificates free of cost to over 11,000 students of different government schools in their respective institutions.

This was stated by Syed Fayaz Shah, Deputy Commissioner Haripur, while talking to mediapersons here on Friday.

He said over 30,000 domicile forms had been printed and were being issued to the principals of government schools across the district. Under the new procedure, he said the condition of affidavit on stamp paper had been abolished and the patents of an applicant would now submit the same on a plain piece of paper.

Mr Shah said abolition of the condition would spare the applicants precious time and money that was spent on the process earlier. He said the principal of each educational institution would verify the personal information of each student and the concerned assistant commissioner, tehsildar and patwari would visit each school on weekly basis to sign and issue the domicile certificates to 9th and 10th graders initially.

In the next phase, the deputy commissioner said the domiciles of students of primary school would also be made through the same process. He said the other applicants, who had not yet obtained their domiciles, would get the document through a one-window operation, which was going to be started within next few days. He maintained that issuance of domicile certificates, arms and driving licences, land record and demarcation would be issued within shortest possible time.

Mr Shah said a notification for deciding the land disputes within six months had been issued, adding the board of revenue had directed the patwaris and tehsildars to complete the process of registration and transfer of property rights within three days.
