KHAR: Traders of Inayat Kallay Bazaar here on Thursday expressed grave concern over the growing robbery incidents and threatened to launch a shutdown strike if tangible steps weren’t taken for curbing such crimes in the bazaar area immediately.

They made the announcement in a meeting which was attended by a number of shopkeepers and traders.

It was noted that robbery and theft incidents during night time had increased in different markets of Inayat Kallay Bazaar during the last several weeks despite presence of watchmen.

They said that several shops in the bazaar most of them general stores and mobile phone outlets had been looted by unknown robbers since Dec 1, 2017.

They said that the robbers broke the ceiling of shops and looted different items.

They urged senior officials of the local administration to take serious notice of the issue and provide them relief.

The participants also showed their anger over the absence of trade union in the bazaar for the last several months and mentioned that the union had been terminated on the instructions of the local administration.

KILLED: Two persons were killed and five others wounded in road accidents in Bajaur Agency the other day.

Local officials said that two persons, including driver Farooq Shah and Hamza Khan, 13, were killed when a car fell into a deep ravine in Gohati area of Mamond tehsil.

Three persons identified as Obaidur Rehman, Waheed Gul and his wife Tila Begum were wounded in the accident. They were taken to the agency headquarters hospital, Khar.

In another incident which happened in Takhatabad area of Barang tehsil two persons were wounded when a truck overturned at a sharp turn.

The injured identified as Sajjad Ali Shah and Rozamin were later taken to the Khar hospital.
