HOW ungrateful we are! On happy occasions when we should share our excitement with others we spread sorrows and tears. Aerial firing is now a common way to celebrate our happiness. All over our country this has become a trend. So celebration becomes cause of someone’s death.
According to a Human Rights Commission of Pakistan report, 81 people were killed due to aerial firing in 2013 in Karachi alone. The year 2017 started with the killing of numerous people on new year’s eve owing to our firing culture.
We all know about the video that went viral when a ‘gentleman’ started firing to celebrate Pakistan’s victory in the Champions’ Trophy final against India in June this year. Also, please remember the student who was killed by firing at Do Darya. A sport like racing turned into a tragedy. No life deserves to be 9mm small.
