KOHAT: The Counter-Terrorism Department, Kohat, arrested three terrorists belonging to the proscribed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan here on Sunday.

A CTD official said on condition of anonymity that the arrested men belonged to TTP’s Maqbool Dawar group. They were shifted to an unknown location for interrogation. A case was registered against them.

The official said they had received intelligence that three terrorists wanted in several of cases of extortion, hurling life threats and hand grenades at the businessmen of Kohat and Karak had gathered at a place.

They raided their den at Torkhulgara and held Mohammad Umar and Hazrat Siddique of Miranshah, Waziristan, and Fazal Haq of Karak.

The police also seized a motorcycle, a hand grenade, three pistols, explosives, ball bearings, prima card, two feet safety fuses, and non-electric detonators from them.

Meanwhile, the police arrested more than 100 motorcyclists for doing wheelie on the eve of the New Year.

The special force conducted operations on the rural as well as urban roads and held 100 motorcyclists and fined them for doing wheelie. The impounded bikes were parked in the traffic headquarters and respective police stations, a statement said.

The police also arrested 15 proclaimed offenders wanted in heinous crimes and got their remand from a special court on Sunday.
