LAHORE: The School Education Department (SED) has called the chief executive officers (CEOs) of the district education authorities (DEAs) of 10 districts to discuss progress on various schemes in the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2017-18.

The 7th chief executive officers conference will be held at Quaid-i-Azam Academy for Educational Development, Wahdat Colony, on Jan 6. SED secretary Dr Allah Bakhsh will chair the conference and the DEAs and CEOs will attend it.

The agenda includes preparation for upcoming literacy and numeracy drive tests, upward mobility packages for teachers that are to be awarded until Dec 30 and the second phase of the enrolment campaign 2017. The CEOs have been directed to produce certificates for successful upward mobility packages and updated status of achievement of class-wise enrolment targets and a progress report on surveys of out-of-school children. The CEOs will submit certificates of 100pc registration of tablets used for the School Information System and completion of tagging of students and teachers.

The conference will also discuss the progress on the schemes in the ADP and review progress on administrative approvals for individual schemes, upgrade and reconstruction of schools, including those buildings that have been deemed dangerous, provision of missing facilities and procurement of equipment under the ADP. It will also discuss the status of schools of the Public School Support Programme (PSSP) under the Punjab Education Foundation, functioning of the PSSP schools, availability and utilisation of the Non-Salary Budget funds and Farogh-i-Taleem Fund.

The SED has decided to focus on 10 districts – Rajanpur, DGK, Muzaffargarh, Multan, Khanewal, Faisalabad, Lahore, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and RYK, regarding different educational schemes.
