KARACHI, May 4: Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed on Wednesday took oath as the Acting Governor of Sindh in the absence of Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad, who has proceeded to Dubai on a four-day private visit.

Senior SHC judge Justice Ataur Rehman administered the oath at a simple ceremony held at the Governor’s House.

Judges of the high court, Sindh Ombudsman Yusuf Jamal, provincial ministers Qamar Mansoor and Syed Ali Bux Shah alias Pappoo Shah, Adviser Salahuddin Hyder, provincial secretaries and prominent lawyers attended the ceremony.

Earlier, Chief Secretary Mohammed Aslam Sanjrani read out the Commission of Appointment issued by the president.

Later, the acting governor administered the oath to Justice Ataur Rehman as Acting Chief Justice of the high court.—APP
