TAXILA: A newly-wed woman died in a gas leakage in the Shamsabad locality of Hazro early on Friday.

Police and hospital sources said 25-year-old Ziaur Rehman married Tahira, 21, eight days ago.

On Friday morning, when the couple did not come out of their room the family members broke the door open and found them unconscious.

They were taken to the hospital where the woman was pronounced dead. The husband was stated to be out of danger. The Hazro police are investigating the matter.

Meanwhile, 13 passengers, including three female students, were injured when a Pindigheb-bound passenger van collided head-on with another van on the Rawalpindi-Kohat road in the limits of the Pindigheb police.

The injured were shifted to the THQ hospital Pindigheb from where some of them were referred to Rawalpindi.
