SHEIKHUPURA: Three people were gunned down over an enmity on the premises of district courts here on Wednesday.

Family members Nazir Dogar, Asghar Dogar and Shahzad Dogar had come to appear before an additional district and sessions judge in connection with a murder case hearing when two unidentified suspects riding a motorbike fired on them. As a result, Nazir and Asghar were killed on the spot while Shahzad succumbed to his injuries at hospital.

The district police officer has constituted a team to arrest the suspects.

After the incident, the lawyers community observed a strike against the poor law and order situation.

Advocate Rana Adeel Anjum while talking to media said although police were present near the spot, they couldn’t arrest the assailants.

Girl falls into manhole: A six-year-old girl died after falling into an open manhole at a private school here on Wednesday in Ali Garden locality of the city.

Reports said Anum, daughter of labourer Mustafa, was playing with her fellows in the compound of the school when she fell into the open manhole. Her friends informed the school administration but she could not be rescued owning to lack of timely [rescue] operation.

A Division police are investigating the matter.
