KOHAT: Local people who have plots in Kotal Township here on Saturday demanded of the government to lift ban on construction of houses in Sector C-4 of phase-II.

A meeting in this regard was held at the residence of neighbourhood councillor Qaiser Siddique which was also attended by local Property Dealers Association chairman Noorul Islam, Riaz Ahmed and a number of inhabitants.

They said that it was the responsibility of project director of Kohat Development Authority (KDA) to sort out the issue because all of their appeals to the district nazim and deputy commissioner had failed to produce any results.

They said that the ban on construction was also causing a big loss to KDA. They appealed to the provincial minister for local government to intervene as it was duty of the government to resolve the matter.

When contacted, housing officer of KDA Hafeez Khan said that the issue was being pursued by the project director and hoped that it would be resolved soon.
