ISLAMABAD: Three people including a couple were gunned down in the federal capital over a petty dispute on Sunday.

The Secretariat police moved the bodies to the Polyclinic.

A case could not be registered till late night though the homicide wing of the police has already started collecting information about the incident.

A police official said that on Sunday morning in Malpur, a goat belonging to Aleem Khan went into the field of Mohammad Miskeen and started grazing there. Annoyed by this, Miskeen broke the goat’s leg.

Aleem and his wife went to Miskeen and both sides argued about the incident so that a large number of people also gathered.

The police official said both sides also exchanged fire during which Miskeen, 58, died on the spot and Aleem, 50, and his wife Asmina, 40, died of their injuries in the car on the way to the hospital.

“It could not be ascertained who fired the first bullet but Miskeen’s son, Zeeshan has been arrested,” he said.

Talking to Dawn, an officer of the homicide wing, Mohammad Arshad said the woman received one bullet to her stomach which went out through the back. Both the men received multiple bullets. He said the bodies will be handed over to their heirs after autopsies.

He said he had collected cartridges of 30-bore and 9mm bullets from the site of the accident.

Top rank officers of the police reached the site in order to avoid further killings and tried to calm both sides.

“According to our investigation, Zeeshan was the only suspect who had to be arrested. The other person who opened fire was Aleem, who has died,” he said.
