QUETTA: Two people were killed and seven others injured in different gas-related incidents in Quetta and Mastung on Saturday.

Police said two employees of the Quetta Metropolitan Corporation died from suffocation in the Killi Deba area after they went to sleep in their room without turning off the gas heater.

Muhammad Anwar and Kallo were taken to Quetta Civil Hospital where doctors confirmed that gas inhalation had caused the death. Their bodies were handed over to their family members.

In another incident, two police personnel, Muhammad Waqir and Arshad Iqbal, suffered burn injuries after fire broke out in their home because of the leakage of gas.

They were taken to Quetta Civil Hospital and admitted there.

In another gas-related incident in Mastung, five members of a family suffered burn injuries in their home because of a fire triggered by the gas leakage.

The injured included a man, his wife and their three children. The room was also damaged by the fire. The injured were taken to the Mastung Civil Hospital.
