KARACHI, May 2: Sindh Planning and Development Minister Shoaib Ahmed Bukhari laid the foundation for upgradation of a rural health centre at Ibrahim Hyderi on Monday. The construction work for the upgraded centre will include an emergency centre, store, operation theatre, laboratory, labour room, nursing room and administration block. The conversion of a B-type Rural Health Centre into a 36-bed A-type centre over an area of 13,275sq-ft will cost Rs44.694 million.

MPA Mahmood Alam Jamote and former provincial minister Shafi Mohammed Jamote were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, Shoaib Bukhari said that Muttahida Qaumi Movement believed in practical actions and realities. He said that the Muttahida had always pursued politics for service to people and was carrying out development activities not only in urban areas but equally in the rural areas of Sindh.

He assured that construction of long pending Ibrahim Hyderi College would be started immediately and those responsible for its delay would be held accountable. He also assured that he would play his due role towards the development of coastal areas.

Mahmood Alam and Shafi Mohammed Jamote requested the provincial minister to provide facilities of education, health and communication to the people of coastal areas so that they could better serve their country. —APP
