MINGORA: Deputy Inspector General of Police, Malakand division, Akhtar Hayat Khan on Tuesday said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police was one of the best forces and was known for their professionalism in the country.

He was speaking to police officials here after inaugurating the digital investigation lab and mobile GSM system at the district police office Swat.

The Malakand division DIG said the KP police were capable of efficiently handling every challenge and maintaining law and order in the province.

“We have converted all police stations into the welfare service centres, where every citizen can go without fear and hesitation for resolution of their problems,” he said.

Mr Akhtar said the provision of services to the people was the police’s duty.

District police officer Wahid Mehmood briefed the DIG about the lab and mobile GSM system and said the facility would help the police trace offenders.

“Now a single SMS will provide access to the complete records of outlaws,” he said.

The Malakand division DIG later met a delegation of the Young Doctors Association and discussed with visitors matter relating to the law and order and security situation in government hospitals of Saidu Sharif.

The YDA delegates expressed concern about the recent theft of a car at the government hospital.

The Malakand division DIG assured them that the police would ensure the protection of their life and property on the hospital’s premises.

He also formed a special police team for looking into the car theft asking it to submit the inquiry report to him at the earliest for necessary action.
