QUETTA: President of Awami National Party, Balochistan, Asghar Khan Achakzai has said that his party would continue its struggle for the rights of Pakhtuns as it did in the past.

He said this while speaking at a condolence reference on the eve of 8th death anniversary of prominent Pakhtun nationalist leader, writer and lawyer Mama Azizullah Khan at the Science College auditorium here on Sunday.

Mr Achakzai said the ANP was a party of martyrs and its leadership had never hesitated in making sacrifices for the rights of Pakhtuns. The ANP leader said that his party’s leaders had asked rulers to keep Pakistan away from the ongoing war on the Afghan soil and advised them to play their role in restoring peace, but the rulers and others, including religious elements, played different roles that pushed Afghanistan towards disaster. He said no efforts could be succeeded for maintaining peace and order in Pakistan until peace was restored in Afghanistan.

Mr Achakzai criticised the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party and said that Pakhtuns did not need a certificate to prove that they were loyal to the country and ghairatmand.

Dr Inayatullah, Arbab Abdul Zahir Khan Kasi, Zamarak Khan Piralizai, Nazimuddin and other party leaders also spoke on the occasion and paid tribute to Mama Azizullah Khan.
