HARIPUR: The members of tehsil council here on Thursday staged walkout from the session to demand inquiry against the tehsil municipal office over his alleged corruption.

The proceeding of the council was started with Syed Ahsan Shah in the chair but all the members stood up and walked out of the hall. The convener tried to bring them back but they staged sit-in outside the council’s hall.

Speaking on the occasion, PTI member Aleem Shah Pasha and PML-N member Sajjad Khan Bagra accused the TMO of corruption. They said that TMO and some of other officials were conspiring to fail the council by not respecting the resolutions adopted by the councillors.

The protesting coucillors also accused the TMO and tehsil nazim of making 28 new appointments in tehsil municipal administration without getting approval from the council.

Demand inquiry against TMO over alleged corruption

They threatened to continue their protest if their demand for initiating inquiry against the TMO was not accepted.

GAS SUPPLY: The local people faced hardships as supply of gas to all CNG stations across the district was suspended.

The residents of the area said that gas supply to CNG stations was suspended abruptly without any prior notice at around 3am on Thursday. The supply remained suspended till evening, they added.

The transporters and motorists, who could not get the CNG cylinders of their vehicles filled on Wednesday evening, faced problems.

The officials concerned, when contacted, said that the main line supplying gas to Hazara developed some technical fault that reduced the pressure. They said that due to low pressure, the authorities decided to suspend supply of gas to CNG stations to facilitate domestic consumers.

Inspector Faazil Khan, the investigation officer, presented two more video clips captured allegedly during the lynching of Mashal, a student of journalism department of AWKU Mardan, to the court presided over by Judge Fazal-i-Subhan Khan.
