Imam-ul-Haq's superb innings of 59 runs led Lahore Blues to a 7-wicket victory over Lahore Whites in the final of the National Twenty20 Cup 2017-18 played in Rawalpindi on Thursday.
Chasing a low total of 127 runs, Haq scored an unbeaten 59 off 49 balls, smashing seven fours and a six.
Skipper Muhammad Hafeez hit 33 runs on 35 balls including three fours and a six while the in-form Ahmed Shahzad also contributed with 22 runs.
Lahore Whites' Bilal Asif, Umaid Asif, and Asif Ali bagged one wicket each, giving away 23, 24 and 23 runs respectively.
Earlier, Lahore Whites just managed to score 127 for 5 in 20 overs. Captain Salman Butt hit 62 runs including eight fours, while Kamran Akmal made a quick 20.
For Lahore Blues, Atif Jabbar took 2 wickets for 24, Salman Ali Agha 1 for 13, Khalid Usman 1 for 28 and Aizaz Cheema 1 for 26.
Haq was declared Man of the match.
Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal gave the trophy to the winning team. The Blues were also awarded a cash prize of Rs2 million while Whites received Rs1m.
Whites' Kamran Akmal, who scored 432 runs in the tournament, was declared the best batsman of the tournament while Umaid Asif of Lahore Whites, who bagged 14 wickets in the tournament, was awarded the best bowler prize. Hamad Azam was declared the best all-rounder of the tournament.
