QUETTA: Protest rallies were held in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan on Sunday against crackdown on protesters in Islamabad.

Workers and supporters of Sunni Tehreek took out a protest rally in Quetta and marched on different roads, carrying banners and placards inscribed with anti-government slogans. They were chanting slogans against the federal government.

Sunni Tehreek leaders Allama Ghulam Abbas Qadri, Allama Muhammad Yousuf and Allama Zainul Abidin led the rally.

Protesters later gathered outside the Quetta Press Cub where the leaders condemned the security forces’ action against protesters in Islamabad.

Dera Murad Jamali correspondent adds: A complete strike was observed in different towns of Nasirabad district, including Dera Murad Jamali, on Sunday against the operation of security forces in Islamabad.

All bazaars and shopping plazas remained closed on the appeal of Sunni Tehreek. Leaders and workers of different religious parties took out a protest procession in the district headquarters.

The protesters marched on the national highway and other roads of Dera Murad Jamali.

Reports reaching here from Chaghai, Dera Allahyar, Sibi, Jaffarabad, Hub and other areas of the province say that protest processions were also taken out in these areas.
