ISLAMABAD, Aug 27: The Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) has approved a project for training of 1,200 nurses during next four years.

According to a press release, the decision was taken at a meeting of the OPF Board of Governors (BoG) here on Wednesday. Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Abdul Sattar Laleka presided over the board meeting.

The meeting also approved a three-month capacity building course for 400 nurses at National University of Modern Languages.

The OPF is undertaking this project to meet the shortfall of nurses in the country and abroad, specially in the Middle East. The trainees will be provided with monthly stipend along with accommodation and transportation facilities.

The BoG also approved a number of suggestion to improve residential schemes initiated for the overseas Pakistanis and decided to establish more educational institutions in the country.
