KARACHI: Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) has urged the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to immediately issue the submission procedure for new Drawback on Local Taxes and Levies (DLTL) against SRO1062 issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Textile on Oct 20.

In a statement issued on Tuesday PTA Chairman Amanullah Aftab pointed out that the commerce ministry had authorised the SBP to issue further submission procedure for the claim of DLTL against leather exports but the same was still pending. All observations and amendments to be incorporated in the submission procedure have been already discussed and finalised with the SBP.

The delay in issuance of submission procedure was causing a lot of hardship to exporters as their claims for DLTL are due since July 1, he claimed, adding that they are unable to pass on this incentive benefit in net unit price of leather to international buyers for future export orders.
