KARACHI, Aug 27: Sindh government has established “Education for All” forum.

The EFA forum will be headed by provincial minister for education and literacy department while secretary education will be the co-chairman and director literacy department will act as secretary of the forum.

Additional secretary (PD&F); education and literacy department; additional secretary academic and training; director SEMIS and RME; director information department; EDO education and literacy, project officer of UNICEF, Karachi; senior instructors, Razia Fakir and Sikandar Ali Babar; and representatives of the AKU-IED will be the members of the forum.

Under the terms of reference, the forum will be a representative body of the government, civil society, media support organizations and communities.

The functions of the forum include creating awareness and launching motivational campaign for EFA. The forum will also propose innovative programmes, projects, strategies and activities for EFA promotion.

Moreover, other functions of the forum include coordination and liaisons with EFA programme and activities; ensuring collection and reporting of EFA data and information to all concerned on regular basis; monitoring the preparation and implementation of EFA plan as per targets.—APP
