MULTAN: Senior politician Javed Hashmi says getting rid of Nawaz Sharif and his family would not solve country’s problems.

“Major opposition parties parties want to see the Sharifs out of politics. Democratically elected governments are never allowed to settle down. This is a matter of great concern,” he told newsmen at local press club on Sunday.

According to APP, Hashmi observed that politicians always delivered and quoted examples of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto and Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for their contribution towards nuclear Pakistan, missiles programme and CPEC, respectively.

He said the on-going accountability of Nawaz Sharif might help the PML-N in next year election.

To a question about possibility of imposition of martial law, Hashmi said masses would no more accept any extra-constitutional step. “Democracy is of vital importance to run country.”

To another question about expected alliance of different political parties under the leadership of Pervez Musharraf, he said that dictators had no roots among masses.Hashmi said the China Pakistan Economic Corridor would bring prosperity to the region.

He said he had written in one of his books, about 18 years ago, that Russia and China would join Pakistan for joint trade. He said India which was against the project at the moment would join it ultimately.

JAH: Jamiat Ahle Hadith Emir Senator Prof Sajid Mir says there were no major changes proposed in the oath regarding the Finality of the Prophethood.

Talking to media here on Sunday, Mir ruled out early election but feared “something unconstitutional” might happen before the Senate election in March.

He said “political game” in Karachi had been been exposed.
