KARACHI: The 1st Beaconhouse Open national juniors & seniors tennis championship 2017 begins here at Karachi Gymkhana on Sunday. Sindh Tennis Association (STA) are the organisers.

According to seedings, Nauman Aftab is the top seed for Juniors under-18 as well as for boys under-16 singles while Hania Naveed is the top seed for girls under-18 singles. Rayyan Jawad is the top seed for boys under-14 singles while Varsha Das is top seed for girls under-14 singles and Zain Ehtisham for boys under-12 singles.

The formal opening ceremony will be held on Monday Oct 23 at 5.00pm. Asim Yakub, Regional Head Beaconhouse Sports System, will be the chief guest on the occasion.

The tournament, which carries a prize money of rupees 50,000 has attracted 130-plus entries for various events. Sindh Tennis Association is organizing this week-long championship.
