ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain has summoned the National Assembly to meet on Nov 2 at 4pm at Parliament House, the legislature’s secretariat announced on Friday.

Some of the important matters likely to be discussed in the session include the recent drone strike in the Pak-Afghan border area near Kurram Agency.

Following the drone attack, Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif had said that the unmanned aircraft had targeted militants along the Pak-Afghan border, and that the strike did not happen inside Pakistan.

He, however, said: “Since the Pak-Afghan border was not well-defined, no one can be sure which country was attacked.”

The issue of US-Pakistan relations may also be debated in the lower house, especially after the US expressed its willingness to give a key role to India in Afghanistan.

The government has recently imposed regulatory duty on more than 300 items and the opposition has called it a “mini budget” of the present government and the matter may also come under discussion in the session.
