DERA MURAD JAMALI: Five of the seven Rapid Response Group (RRG) personnel of the Balochistan Constabulary who died in a suicide attack on Wednesday were buried in their hometowns on Thursday.

The blast took place when the RRG personnel were going into the city to perform their duties when a suicide bomber in a vehicle laden with explosives hit the truck carrying them in the Sariab area. At least seven policemen and a passer-by were killed while 22 others were injured in the blast. The bodies of five RRG personnel were taken to their native towns for the burial after their funeral prayers were offered at Police Lines in Quetta. The funeral was attended by the chief minister of Balochistan, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, provincial ministers, Commander Southern Command Lt Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa, IG Frontier Corps Maj Gen Nadeem Ahmed Anjum, IG police and other senior civil and military officials.

The RRG personnel laid to rest were identified as Shah Zaman Laghari who was buried in Dera Murad Jamali, Munir Ahmed Sarparah was laid to rest in Gajan, district Jhal Magsi, Abdul Razzaq Qambrani who was buried in Gandakha, district Jaffarabad, Abdul Fateh Chana was laid to rest in Manjhipur, district Subatpur and Mashooq Ali who was buried in Bagh Nari, district Kachhi.
