TANK/BUNER: Five people, including two brothers and a couple, were shot dead in separate incidents on Tuesday.

According to police, Feroz Khan and Qayyum Khan, the two brothers, and Khan Rasool and Wakeel Khan were coming to their village in Umrakhel area of Tank after attending a wedding ceremony in Babar Mullakhel area when their rivals ambushed them near the village graveyard.

As a result, Feroz, Qayyum and Rasool were killed on the spot while Wakeel received critical injuries.

The bodies and the injured were brought to the district headquarters hospital, Tank. The police lodged FIR on the report of the family members of the deceased.

According to police the motive behind the incident was stated to be an old enmity.

In Buner, unknown assailants shot dead a couple in Sora village of Mandan tehsil late on Monday night and managed to escape after the incident.

According to police and local residents, unknown assailants came to the house of Mohammad Ayaz and opened fire, killing him on the spot.

According to Nawagai police, the assailants also shot dead his wife when she rushed to the door after her husband was shot dead.

Police said the bodies had been handed over to the family.

The police and local people said the couple had solemnized their marriage without consent of their families. The police lodged FIR against unknown attackers and started investigation.
