LAHORE: After Karachi, a knife attacker also appeared in the provincial capital as in the first incident of its kind a woman suffered injuries.

The Lahore Operations DIG confirmed the incident saying that police have lodged a case against the unidentified knife attacker on the complaint of a police official when the victim woman refused to lodge the complaint.

Talking to Dawn, he said 45-year-old Shakeela was on a morning walk in a Chuhng park two days ago when an unidentified man riding a motorbike suddenly attacked her with a knife.

The man disappeared, he said adding that Shakeela suffered a wound to her leg.

She didn’t report the matter and got treatment at a local hospital, the DIG said adding that later the matter came to the knowledge of the police which asked her to file a complaint.

Mr Haider said Shakeela’s family was settled abroad and despite police’s request, she refused to file complaint.The DIG said police obtained CCTV footage of the incident and sent it to the Punjab Forensic Sciences Agency for analysis.
