CHARSADDA: Traders staged a protest after unknown assailants riding a motorcycle gunned down a flour dealer at the Shabqadar bus stand here on Thursday.

According to reports, flour dealer Amir, a resident of Behlulkhel, was on way to his shop when unknown assailants on a bike shot him dead at the bus stand early in the morning. The incident created panic among the people present in the area.

Eyewitnesses said that the police entered the shop of a hairdresser when the gunmen opened fire. Later, the assailants escaped without facing any resistance from the police.

Two days ago, motorcyclists had stabbed a man in front of the DSP office in Shabqadar in the daytime and escaped. The local traders have demanded of the district police officer, Charsadda, to take notice of the increasing crime incidents in Shabqadar area and ensure security to them.

They warned to start a protest campaign if security was not provided to them.
