GILGIT, Jan 5: A team of Ulema belonging to all sects called upon Northern Areas Chief Secretary Fazal Durrani on Wednesday and assured him of their full support for the defence of the country.

The delegation comprised Anjuman-i-Imamia President Muhammad Afzal, Islamia Regional Council (NAs) Presi-dent Zafar Iqbal, Fida Ali Aysar, Maulana Attaullah and Maulana Nazurullah of Jamia Nasrat-ul-Islam of Konodas. Mr Fazal appreciated Ulema stance to favour government. The team stated that they would render every sacrifice to keep sanctity of their motherland intact.

In a meeting, members of NAs Legislative Council endorsed President’s stand regarding the current situation.
