THE National Accountability Bureau has been sending SMS messages, as well as advertising on various forums, against corruption. Its message reads: “Say no to corruption.” However, the reality is very different. The officials of the National Accountability Bureau are after all also part of this system where corruption and nepotism thrive.
I filed a complaint with NAB’s Balochistan office about corruption in the provincial food department. To my utter disappointment, it paid no heed to my complaint. I would like to ask NAB whether it initiated any proceeding relating to my complaint or discarded it. As a citizen, I should have been informed.
From this experience perhaps we may infer that the real message is: “Say ‘yes’ to corruption.”
