KARACHI: A 19-year-old girl was found shot dead in the North Nazimabad area on Thursday, police said.

They added that the body of the burqa-clad girl was recovered from a narrow street near the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi. She sustained multiple bullet wounds, the Shahrah-i-Noorjehan police said, adding that it was suspected that she was killed in the name of ‘honour’.

The investigators collected three spent bullet casings fired from a 30-bore pistol.

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Later, she was identified as Hajira, a resident of the same locality. “Initial probe revealed that it appeared to be a case of honour killing,” said Karachi Central SSP Irfan Ali Baloch.
