LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly proceedings were adjourned for Tuesday because of lack of quorum.

Opposition’s Ahsan Riaz Fatyana pointed out quorum after conclusion of the Question Hour on Monday.

During the Question Hour, the shortage of doctors at health facilities in the province were pinpointed.

Admitting the fact, primary healthcare minister Imran Nazir said the government was offering good packages to doctors. Some doctors were going abroad for better opportunities, he added.

Mr Nazir said the health department was taking action against medics for selling fake and expired drugs.

“A fine of Rs13.9m has been imposed on medical stores for selling fake and expired medicines last year.”
