LAHORE: The Punjab Finance Department notified on Monday upgrade of primary and elementary schoolteachers as well as granted increments to secondary schoolteachers implying financial impact of Rs3 billion a year.

As many as 379,300 teachers will be benefitted from this order.

The department notified upgrade of primary and elementary schoolteachers from BS-9 to BS-14 and BS-14 to BS-15.

The elementary schoolteachers already working in BS-15 (personal) have been granted BS-16 (personal), while those working in BS-16 (personal) were granted two annual increments in the relevant pay scales. Two annual increments have been awarded to the secondary schoolteachers in their relevant pay scales.

The government notified that the upgrade and grant of increments will be effective from Jan 1, 2018. However, it discontinued uplift and upward mobility packages awarded through different notifications issued on Sept 24, 2007, Nov 6, 2009 and Feb 15, 2013 with effect from Jan 1, 2018.

SAAF PANI: The Punjab government on Monday transferred Director of Punjab Civil Defence retired Capt Muhammad Usman and placed his services at the disposal of Punjab Saaf Pani Company for his adjustment as Chief Executive Officer of Saaf Pani Company (North) under the Punjab Housing Urban Development and Public Health Engineering Department.
