KARACHI: By virtue of attaining top two slots on the penultimate day of the league, Manzoor Hussain Jr 5’s and Shahbaz Ahmed Sr 5’s have qualified for the final of the Essa Lab Quaid-i-Azam five-a-side under-19 hockey tournament at the Islahuddin-Dr M. A. Shah Academy on Monday.

Manzoor Jr 5’s topped the table with a tally of 10 points from five outings followed by Shahbaz Sr 5’s who seized nine points.

Akhtar Rasool 5’s and Islahuddin Siddiqui 5’s will take on each other in the playoff for the third-fourth positions after both teams finished with seven points.

Hasan Sardar 5’s are slated to face Shahnaz Sheikh 5’s in the classification match for the fifth-sixth slot. The former had five points while the latter four.

Meanwhile, Manzoor Jr 5’s were held to a seven-all draw by Hasan Sardar 5’s on Monday.

Abid Bhatti slammed three goals while Rehan Butt, Ilyas, Arshad Liaquat and Salman Shaukat netted once apiece for Manzoor Jr 5’s.

Abdullah struck four goals for Hasan Sardar 5’s and was followed by Waqas (2) and Anees (1).

In another match, Islahuddin 5’s thrashed Akhtar Rasool 5’s 11-7.

Mohib Khan (3), Saqlain (3), Arsalan Hyder (2), Essa Khan, Hilaluddin and Umer Bilal one apiece, earned scoring honours for the winners. Mohsin Khan (4), Faizan Alvi (2) and Roman (1) were the scorers for losers.

In the third match, Shahbaz Ahmed Sr 5’s overwhelmed Shahnaz Sheikh 5’s 12-6.

Rana Waheed and M. Sameer shared eight goals amongst themselves while Umair and Yasir scored two goals apiece to complete the winners tally. Ahmer Ali slammed three goals and was followed by Mohammad Abid (2) and Ali Anwer (1).

Tuesday’s fixtures: Hasan Sardar 5’s v Shahnaz Sheikh 5’s 5th-6th position match at 4pm; Akhtar Rasool 5’s v Islahuddin Siddiqui 5’s playoff 3rd-4th position match at 5.15pm; Manzoor Hussain Jr 5’s v Shahbaz Ahmed Sr 5’s (final) at 7.30pm
