HYDERABAD: Police arrested on Monday suspected killer of Tania Khaskheli and inserted Section 6/7 of Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997, in the girl’s murder case lodged on Sept 7 at Jhangara-Bajara police station.

DIG police Hyderabad range, Khadim Hussain Rind, told journalists at a press conference that Khan Mohammad Nohani, who was prime suspect in the case, was arrested near Nai Baran area in Jamshoro district. Nohani was nominated in the FIR besides Maula Bux alias Mauloo Nohani, he said.

He announced Rs100,000 reward each for Jamshoro SSP Irfan Bahadur and Sehwan ASP Dr Sami for arresting Nohani and his accomplice and said that Section 6/7 of ATA had been added to the FIR which would be submitted to the antiterrorism court.

He said that police had also found the weapon used in the crime. Police would soon reach the facilitators of the suspects and would then arrest the main suspect’s brother Ashraf Nohani who carried head money of Rs500,000, he said.

A police source said that police had also obtained mobile phone of late Tania along with its call data record (CDR) of a month. “It shows long duration calls between Khan Nohani and Tania from her cell phone,” said the source.
