PESHAWAR: Pakistan People’s Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari will arrive here today (Sunday) for a two-day visit where he will hold meetings with his party people.

He will also visit residence of Ziaullah Afridi, a former PTI minister, in the University Town where the lawmaker will announce joining the PPP.

According to the PPP media cell, Mr Zardari after arrival would move to the residence of the party’s provincial president Mohammad Humayun Khan, where activists, including nazims and councillors belonging to various political parties, are also expected to announce joining the PPP.

Similarly, the PPP co-chairman will also continue meetings with people on Monday at Mr Huamayun’s residence.

Former MPA from PK-90, Chitral, Ghulam Mohammad of JUI-F, and another social worker, Fazal Rabbi of JI, will also announce joining the PPP.

Mr Zardari will visit Nowshera for a lunch at the residence of former minister Mian Muzaffar Shah and tea at the residence of Liaquat Shabab, who is PPP’s Peshawar division president.

This is the second visit of Mr Zardari in about four months. In the last trip, he held extensive meetings with party leaders, office-bearers and delegations of various districts and divisions of the province.

A senior PPP leader said during his visit to Peshawar Mr Zardari is expected to announce names of the office-bearers of different wings of the party as it has been due sing long.
