Harry Potter’s childhood home is on the market

De Vere House, which featured in the seventh, penultimate film in the movie adaptations of the famous wizarding saga, is on the market for just under £1 million.

The Grade I listed property appears in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One. It’s the birthplace of Harry and the place where the young hero’s parents were killed.

The building, situated in the quaint Suffolk village of Lavenham (it poses as the fictional West Country village of Godric’s Hollow in the Fantasy series), shouldn’t be short of suitors, despite its price tag of £995,000. According to its previous owners, various shots were taken of the building and its surrounds that were then edited to create Godric’s Hollow. The facade looks as it does in the film, though, so expect fans regularly flocking to your front door to catch a glimpse. Its doorway is the second most photographed one in the UK — piped to the post only by 10 Downing Street.

Craig confirms return as James Bond

Daniel Craig has confirmed that he will be returning as James Bond for one more big screen mission.

“We’ve been discussing it, we’ve just been trying to figure things out,” he revealed before admitting that he always just needed a break.

In 2015, as he promoted the last Bond film Spectre, Craig shocked his fans by suggesting that he would rather kill himself than appear in another 007 movie, a franchise that has been running from six decades. Craig is the sixth actor to step into the role. Keen to ‘move on’ from the franchise, Craig also said at the time if he were to do another Bond film it would ‘only be for the money’. However, it seems the break — and the constant betting over who may replace Craig — have been enough and he’s been wooed back to play Bond on more time. “I just want to go out on a high note, and I can’t wait,” he added.

Leonardo da Vinci biopic starring Leonardo DiCaprio

Leonardo DiCaprio will be portraying famous artist and scientist Leonardo da Vinci in an upcoming biopic that is being setup at Paramount. Paramount won a seven-figure bidding war over Universal for the rights to author Walter Isaacson’s upcoming book on da Vinci which the film will be based on.

DiCaprio will also be producing the project under his Appian Way banner alongside Jennifer Davisson. Isaacson has previously penned books based on Albert Einstein, Henry Kissinger, Steve Jobs and Benjamin Franklin. His work on Jobs was turned into a 2015 film starring Michael Fassbender and recently National Geographic adapted his book on Einstein for the series Genius. The author’s da Vinci book will be released on October 17. DiCaprio is said to have been named after da Vinci by his mother.
