Upgrading PR

When would we think of upgrading our railways? What is our vision about developing the railways? All over the world, railways are considered a fast and cheap means of commutation. Trains with the speed of 300km/hr are now common.

For Pakistan high-speed trains, with the proper infrastructure, could be a good alternative for intercity movement and hence less traffic on GT Road and motorways. Also, the cargo train service should be streamlined. One cargo train can carry a load of at least 10 heavy trailers and tankers.

Instead of spending billions of rupees on motorways all around the country, the government should direct ministry of railways to pay heed to upgrading the railways.
