LAHORE: Milli Muslim League (MML), the political face of Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) inaugurated its NA-120 central election office at Lakshami Chowk on Saturday to contest the by-poll in the constituency.

The MML president, Saifullah Khalid, its candidate for NA-120, Yaqoob Shiekh, Hafiz Khalid Waleed, Hafiz Abdul Rauf and Abul Hashim Rabbani also attended the inaugural ceremony.

On the occasion, Mr Khalid said the recently formed party party would open election offices in every street of the National Assembly constituency and they would also run their by-poll campaign with public support.

“We are contesting the by-election to give the poor their rights. We will not deceive the public for personal interests,” he claimed.

Referring to the work of the party’s welfare arm - the Falah-Insaniat Foundation -- He said they had been helping the public all over the country and were building a strong network to help humanity.

“We will also restore the sovereignty of the country by strengthening our economy and getting rid of the IMF and the World Bank”.

He said Pakistan could not be called a sovereign state as long as they country was receiving loans from the world. “We will work under the guiding principles of Qauid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal to implement the two nations theory”.

Mr Sheikh said the party would protect the ideological and geographical boundaries of Pakistan, adding it would work for the betterment of the country and also end unemployment in youth.

He alleged the government had detained JuD chief Hafiz Saeed without any crime who “always played his role in defence of the country”, demanding end to the “illegal detention” of Mr Saeed so he could raise voice for the Kashmiris.
